Mission Statement for Jan - This is a very exciting time of my life. I am ready to work on ME! I want to be healthy, centered, fit. After 49 years, it is time. Even as a child I was overweight. I remember being made to exercise out in our yard and hating it, making excuses to go in the house (mostly having to do with the bathroom). I was on diets as early in my life as age 7. Since that time I have been on every diet that I have heard of, anything new, sign me up. Where that got me is at an even higher number on the scale. My all time high is 310 pounds in 2000 after I completed chemotherapy for breast cancer. Up until September of this year, I managed to lose down to 274.5. That was not a straight line down, I can assure you. In September I joined the Biggest Loser Club at 269 pounds. I met Debbie in the WTGG while doing their challenges. By the time the Million Pound Matchup started I had lost down to 249.5. I have made lifestyle changes, not just dieted and lost weight. I am now a GOOD role model for my fourteen year old son. I have followed the Biggest Loser Plan, worked out with a personal trainer and taken up running. Debbie and I have supported each other. We have been successful. We have become friends. We have been working towards our goals and now we are ready for a REALLY big boost by winning a trip to the Biggest Loser Season Finale! It would be wonderful to be able to meet Debbie and would also be the biggest incentive to be part of the finale. We deserve to win. Let’s Go!

My life has been a journey of unending diets from the time I was a child and my parents put me on my first diet until I started with Biggest Loser. The BL has shown me that I can reach my dream of being thin in a healthy way and not another diet. I can also motivate and inspire others to reach their dreams. Life being heavy has not been easy. Life as a fat child was full of ridicule and taunting as only kids can do. My father was in the military and we moved around a lot. I had to meet new kids and make new friends every time we moved. High school was a very painful time as I went to 3 high schools in my junior year. I battled my weight continuously over the years and tried every diet that I could find. It would seem that something should have worked. I would lose some weight and I would gain it back and more – the never ending battle. Reasons I want to lose weight: • To be around a long time for my daughter and any future grandkids. • To be a healthy inspiration for my family. Reasons why I need to win this challenge. • I would love to meet my BL partner. She has been the best motivator and we will continue to be friends. • I am within 1 year of my goal and a trainer for a year would be the thing to see me to the end. It’s time to stop letting my weight define who I am.

Still here

It's been awhile since I posted - I am more committed than ever.

I started a new job in May and it has been very difficult - not the actual work just what is going on and the lack of trust issue.  Things changed from when I interviewed.

The stress did not helping my healthy eating.  With all the overtime, exercise was also lacking.  This weekend I am back on track.  I got in a lot of exercise and eating was great.

Tomorrow it is back to work and I hope I can keep it up.

In reverse and losing control

It has been awhile since I have been on here.

I started a new job and it feels like a nightmare.  They are going through a crazy time and I have worked a lot of overtime and eating is just so out of control.  With akll the overtime there has not been any time for exercise.  I feel like I am in reverse and am losing control.

This is the first evening I have had at home in almost 3 weeks.  I have missed checking in on everyone for motivation and inspiration.

Friday - first day of new challenge

Well, here I am.  It's been a crazy week, but I'm surviving it.  Today was my 12th day to work, and I'm REALLY glad to be off this weekend.

Today is the beginning day of a new challenge in WTGG and I'm participating this time.  I sat out the last one and I think I needed a break after doing two in a row.  I did 70 minutes of cardio today, and it was great!  My foot is still not right, but its not worse and maybe even better.

Debbie - I'm glad you're having a good week.  I know about those self sabotaging times...give it some thought and see if you can figure out the "why" behind it.

Better Day

Today has been a better day.

It was an interesting day. I took my car in for an oil change and they said it would be an hour. I was about a mile from the lake so I thought I would walk over and walk along the lake. It was a great walk. I went back to get my car and was told that there was a mouse nest (Yuck) in my engine and I needed a new timing belt along with some other stuff. I was told I was lucky that the mice had not started chewing the electrical wires.

I hope you are doing better Jan.

Baaad Day

I have doing so well and today I sabotaged myself.  I had a binge and cannot understand why I do that to myself.  I do so well and then blow it.  I need to exercise and start getting rid of the calories.
